SBI started as a small home based company to allow a stay at home Dad the opportunity to keep from going crazy.
Mark D. Phillips began his career in the media. In his 20 years as a photojournalist, he travelled the world using technology to meet daily deadlines. In 1994, he made use of early digital technology to transmit daily coverage of Nelson Mandela's election as president of South Africa via Compuserve, the first worldwide computer service. In 1995, he made one of the first digital photo transmissions from the interior of China of a World Record highwire walk above the Yangtze River. During this period, he realized the importance of the Internet for the media and formed his first Internet company.
In 1998, he retired to raise his beautiful daughter, Eliza. While staying home, he stayed current with new technology and trained to stay on top of the marketplace. Now, with SBI, he is bringing together the technology required to capitalize on its power.
Christopher Tsanos has been a graphic designer since 1995. He was the Senior Designer at the auction house, Phillips, de Pury & Luxembourg (currently Phillips & Company) for four years designing & producing 20 catalogs a year as well as all supporting collateral and advertising materials.
He began working with HTML and building websites in his spare time in 1998. Chris left Phillips, to work at home, taking over house and children duties from his wife whose own career took off. Upon leaving, he started Christopher Tsanos Design in 2004, continuing graphic design and print work and creating web sites in earnest.
Chris met Mark Phillips through a mutual friend and their converging interests and complementary talents were a match made in heaven (that and Chris's obsession for working in an environment where a Phillips is present). Chris officially joined forces with South Brooklyn Internet in 2007.
